Management Development Programme
At UCAL Fuel Systems, in the coming age of hyper-competition we see our future in the coming decade as a rapidly growing multi-location, multi-industry business. Given our current size, in the Rs.300 crore (USD 70 mn) range, our company has to strengthen its general management capabilities and create depth in the organisation, among the current middle and senior managers. Our company therefore conducts Management Development Programmes to groom potential heads of business through a multilayered process.
The subjects handled in the Management Development Programme are

A Foundation Course in Management: an orientation to business, what it means to manage and the role of the manager
- Finance, Accounting and Project Management
- Tools for Thinking: Frameworks and methods of analysis of quantitative data, statistics, control and evaluation measures, linear problem solving; creative approaches to problem solving
- Introduction to functional areas and links to business strategy: people, markets, marketing, customer management, service, marketing research and brand management concepts
- Communication and Presentation skills
Graduate Engineering Training Programme
In addition to this our company conducts a Graduate Engineers Training programme which has to be attended compulsorily by all fresh engineering graduate recruits. This includes engineers employed in various functions such as R&D, Production Engineering, Quality, Production and Operations, and Maintenance among others. All the engineers are trained in the following areas:
- Introduction into company’s activities
- Training on the design, development and function of existing products of the company
- Technology behind the development of future products
- Latest updates on automotive industry
- Production engineering, process engineering, tool development and manufacturing process control
- Training on quality tools, problem solving tools
- Training in Six Sigma, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Manufacturing, 5S techniques, Just In Time, Kanban and Productivity Improvement Activities
- Training in the shop floor about the production of existing products
